DESCRIPTION
The goal is for students to achieve high 3s and 4s. This presentation will demonstrate how through specific research, highly effective classroom strategies have been created to better understand how students are thinking and performing in Math. Through this workshop participants will understand:
• what research says about math instruction and achievement;
• that “looking at student work” and assessments over time leads to
the scaffolding of writing strategies in the math classroom;
• learning methods and techniques that can positively impact on
a significant number of classrooms and students, specifically the
minority population.
